Welcome to Bio-Mems. MEMS technology can be implemented using a number of different materials and manufacturing techniques; the choice of which will depend on the device being created and the market sector in which it has to operate. Bio-MEMS applications in medical and health related technologies from Lab-On-Chip to Micro Total Analysis.

Microelectromechanical systems is the technology of the very small, and merges at the nano-scale into nanoelectromechanical systems (NEMS) and nanotechnology. MEMS are also referred to as micromachines. MEMS are separate and distinct from the hypothetical vision of molecular nanotechnology or molecular electronics. MEMS are made up of components between 1 to 100 micrometres in size (i.e. 0.001 to 0.1 mm) and MEMS devices generally range in size from 20 micrometres (20 millionths of a metre) to a millimetre. They usually consist of a central unit that processes data, the microprocessor and several components that interact with the outside such as microsensors.

Bio-mems is the integration of the physical and the biological worlds, at the smallest of possible scales. For that i need the formula to calculate normalized power as my ‘y’ axis variable. The ‘x’ axis variable is wavelength in microns. I can make design assumptions. Please help!

Genetic Exams

I’ve heard MEMS several times but I still haven’t got the idea what is this “MEMS” all about… is there any good website that gives several simple application about MEMS and how to build simple circuit using MEMS?

I hope it suits the high school level here, I don’t want the advanced application or advanced circuit using MEMS. I just need the basic of MEMS and a simple MEMS circuit (from ANY GOOD WEBSITE) that suits the high school level here.

Thanks for any of your feedback!

Genetic Engineering Center

manufacturing technology capable of producing tubes with external diameters ranging between 30 to 200 microns and internal diameters between 20 and 100 microns. The goal of the university research team was to invent a blood-sampling device using BioMEMS (biological microelectromechanical systems) technology featuring an extremely fine tube, and a design that mimics the blood aspiration mechanism of a female mosquito.
